DISCIPLING THE BELIEVERS

EVANGELIZING THE LOST

MINISTERING TO NEEDS

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20

DISCIPLING THE BELIEVERS

We believe that placing your faith in Christ is just the begining of becoming a Christian. We believe that each Christian needs to grow in their devotion to Christ. This growth happens in many different ways: attending worship, joining a small group, serving at church and in our community, personal bible study and prayer time. It is the church's role to support and help Christians grow in their personal faith with Jesus Christ.

EVANGELIZING THE LOST

We believe that the verses above teach that each Christian is called to share the good news of Jesus. We care deeply about spreading the good news of Jesus in our community and around the world.  If you don't know the good news about Jesus, we would be glad to share it with you. If you do know, but don't have a church home, we would be glad to have you join us in spreading the name of Jesus.

 MINISTERING TO

NEEDS

Jesus spent a lot of His ministry reaching out to the hurting people around him. At Woodstock Christian Church we want to do the same and teach each Christian to live like Jesus. We want to be a church where broken and hurting people can turn to find a loving hand; not judgement. If you are in need, we will lend a helping hand where we can.

TESTIMONIALS

I love this church! Have tried many churches in Woodstock as well as surrounding towns. Finally found my home! The music is great without feeling like you are at a rock concert. I want to sing along and hear others too, not be drowned out by the band as is the case with too many other churches. The pastor is straightforward, down to earth, and a firm believer in Bible based preaching. An outline is provided for each sermon with Bible references so you can go home and study in further detail, great idea. It also seems as the songs each week are selected to go along with the message! Everyone has been so welcoming. Just a great church.

Cindy Myers

Have lived in GA since 2010, was Baptized at WCC in 2011 and met and married my husband here in 2013! I searched and visited many churches in this area, and found WCC a place to Worship our Lord and I am Truly, Truly Blessed with such a Wonderful Church Family!! The congregation is welcoming and the members are caring, loving, warm people! Thank You Lord for such an Amazing Place of worship and fellowship!! I love listening to our preacher preaching Your word right from the Bible, no deviation just Your Word and Truth!!

The Ulmers

Woodstock Christian Church is an independent, Bible based church. We share in a brotherhood of churches around the world known as Christian Churches or Churches of Christ. We are non-denominational in that we have no structure above the local congregation. As the Bible teaches us, we are an Elder led congregation.

WCC began worshipping on the first Sunday in June, 1977. There were several families living in the area and were traveling to attend other Christian churches.  They felt led by the Lord in recognizing there was a need for a Christian church in the Woodstock area.  There were several planning meetings in their homes to lay the ground work.  They met for that first worship service in a rented house (actually a log cabin) on Highway 92 for the first few months. Then they bought the current nine acre property and met in the house on that property.

WCC was very blessed to have help from Mount Carmel (GA) Church builders in erecting the first church building.  WCC quickly outgrew that sanctuary space and it was expanded a year later, again with help from Mount Carmel.  The current fellowship hall was built in 1983 and the church people built the sanctuary level in 1985.  A two story classroom addition to the back of the original building was occupied in 1994.  The sanctuary was remodeled in 2000.  The interior space of the original building was redone in 2002. The church has grown by preaching, teaching, and sharing the gospel in our local community.
