VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL:

Come Join Forces With Us, As We Join Forces With God!Everyone loves a "Hero." Heroes seem larger than life and everyone looks up to them. At WCC we look to Jesus as our "Hero."
We invite all Pre-K to 5th Graders (Ages 3-12) to attend "Hero HeadQuarters: Where Kids Join Forces With God." This is the theme of our 2010 Vacation Bible School, which will take place Sunday - Friday, July 18-23, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. INDEPENDENCE DAY ACTIVITIES:
Join us for fun Independence Day Activities on July 3rd, beginning at 10 am for the annual 4th of July Parade through downtown Woodstock. If you would like to walk with the WCC float and hand out candy, pens, etc., please meet at WCC @ 8 am. We are accepting donations for non-chocolate, individually wrapped candy in the church foyer.
We will continue the day at approx. 5 pm with a Picnic at the Discount Tire parking lot at the Target/Kohl's shopping center. We'll have activities before the annual Woodstock fireworks display. WCC will provide the meats to grill, so please bring a picnic of sides, desserts, drinks and condiments to share. Steve Aponik will have his grill there for us to use. And then stay for the fireworks that typically begin shortly after 9:00
WCC BLOOD DRIVE:
JULY 24TH FROM 9 AM - 2 PM
On July 24th we will be hosting another Red Cross Blood Drive . I am Asking you to invite a friend to attend with you. The blood supplies in metro Atlanta have once again reached critical levels. It is important to get the word out to everyone you know that we need blood. 30 – 40 minutes of your time and 1 pint of blood can save 2 lives. The blood drive is Saturday, July 24 th from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Signup sheet will be in the foyer. Please sign-up and then tell others.
LIFE LINE SCREENING:
WCC is pleased to offer preventive health screening in collaboration with Life Line Screening. The screenings are offered on Friday, August 6th in the fellowship hall of WCC and test for stroke risk, vascular disease, and bone density. MEN'S RETREAT
SENIORS RETREAT:
Seniors, mark your calendars to attend Atlanta Christian College's 2010 Senior Retreat August 5th, 2010 from approx. 8:30 am - 1 pm. You will have your choice of 2 workshops & lunch will be provided. The Keynote Speaker is Stee Geyer with music by Dave Wilson & the Four Given Quartet from 1st Christian Church of Jonesboro. Registration is $12 per person or $15 after July 15. New Sunday Night Small Group:
A new small group in the Canton/Bridgemill area will be started May 2nd @ the Fedele's home in Canton. (504 Waterside Court) This group's start time will be 5:30 pm. Please contact Andy Fedele (770-479-7120) or the church office with any questions.

Women's Prayer Breakfast:
Our first Prayer Breakfast for next season will be September 11th.
End of Season Changes: May marks a temporary end to several seasonal events here at WCC. Please mark your calendars that along with May being the last month of school for Cobb & Cherokee, May is also the last month for the WINGS prayer breakfasts until September, and the last month for our Wednesday night meals until August.
Food Pantry:
The WCC Food Pantry team is currently looking for 1 or 2 volunteers that speak FLUENT SPANISH to assist with the Food Pantry on Thursdays from 10 am - 11:30 am. If you speak fluent spanish and are willing and able to volunteer your time on ANY or all Thursdays on a monthly basis, please contact the church office. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
